Thiruvananthapuram AIITA centre Galvanizes Rural and Tribal Students in Digital Literacy: Parthan P. 04/11/2017

Practical knowledge encourage confidence that gets the way to serve humanity

Thiruvananthapuram formerly known as Trivandrum is the capital and the largest city of the Indian state of Kerala. It is located on the west coast of India near the extreme south of the mainland. Referred to by Mahatma Gandhi as the "evergreen city of India", it is classified as a Tier-II city by the Government of India. Thiruvananthapuram was a trading post for spices, sandalwood and ivory. The city was ruled by the Ays and was captured by the rulers of Venad in tenth century A.D. Thiruvananthapuram contributes nearly 80% of the state's software exports and is a major IT hub. It was ranked as the best city in Kerala to live in a 2012 survey by Times of India

All India IT Association (AIITA) is one of the pioneering organizations that promote IT education across the country and it has started a study centre in Thiruvananthapuram. Thiruvananthapuram district is a major academic hub. The University of Kerala is in Thiruvananthapuram city. There are 20 arts and sciences colleges in the district, and the strength of students is roughly estimated to be 15,926. The University of Kerala has its research and higher-education centres at Kariavattom.  Our sole aim is to promote digital literacy. These views were expressed by the Thiruvananthapuram AIITA centre head Mr. Parthan P.B. /Mr. Iriju I. / Mr. Akhil Darsan S. and Mr. Aravind R.

They said that our main focus is to promote aware and educate rural and tribal students those are residing in rural areas of the district. There are 12 development blocks in the district: Parassala, Perumkadavila, Athiyanoor, Nemom, Thiruvananthapuram Rural, Kazhakuttom, Vellanad, Nedumangad, Vamanapuram, Kilimanoor, Chirayinkeezhu and Varkala.  District Rural Development Agency co-ordinates the work in these blocks. We are going to interact with schools and people to spread job-oriented AIITA courses. They keep on going with their spirit and with a message as practical knowledge encourage confidence that gets the way to serve humanity.
